Publix Marathon Hydration Station
The 2014 Publix Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Go T.E.C.H. will once again take part in the event by coordinating the hydration station on Tech Parkway. The past five years, we've been voted the Best Hydration Station and won a total of $5000! Go T.E.C.H. would like to invite all of you to come out to volunteer, support the Georgia Tech community and help defend our title!
The Georgia Tech Hydration Station is the last leg of the race and will be located on our campus. We will need volunteers to work the Hydration Station which will be in operation from 5:00am-2:00pm. Volunteers will be asked to work a minimum 3-hour shift (not the entire time from 5:00am-2:00pm). We need volunteers for set up, cheering & encouraging athletes, water distribution, and break-down/cleanup. Once you register on the website (instructions below), your name will be included in a directory with all the other volunteers at Georgia Tech. I will e-mail all the volunteers to get their preferred times to work the hydration station. I will then review the list and send out the schedule to all the volunteers so they know when they'll be expected to arrive.
We would love to see as many of you who are able, come and support the athletes participating in the race. All volunteers will receive a T-shirt commemorating the event along with a special "goodie" bag. Your friends and family are more than welcome to join us (please have all people in your party register individually). The early registration deadline is February 26th.
If you are already running or walking in the race, when registering, select Georgia Tech as your affiliation and it will count toward our volunteer numbers.
If you have any specific questions about this volunteer opportunity, please contact Christie Stewart at email@example.com
