Top 10 Ways to Stay Healthy During the Holidays (in no particular order):

1. Eat healthy and work out: The holiday season is known for extravagant family dinners and 3 course meals. Don’t take a break from working out- it might help make your New Year’s Resolution a little more attainable!

2. Manage Stress: ‘Tis the season to be jolly. Don’t stress out about overspending or over committing yourself. Plan ahead and use the holidays as a time to relax.

3. Wash your hands: In general, shopping malls, restaurants, and recreational arenas are packed during the holidays. Keep your hands clean to avoid getting sick!

4. Handle and prepare food safely: Watch out for uncooked meat or unsanitary food conditions when preparing or eating food.

5. Prevent injuries: Be careful when hanging up decorations, taking turkey out of the oven, or lighting candles. The winter time is when the most injuries and accidents occur, so try to take preventative measures!

6. Get check-ups and vaccinations: The holidays are a good time to catch up on doctors visits or get any additional vaccines or procedures, especially for out-of-state students.

7. Travel safely: Be safe when traveling. Be aware of weather conditions and your surroundings.

8. Stay warm: Bundle up! Even though it is relatively warm in Atlanta, pack appropriately for colder vacation spots.

9. Don’t drink and drive: Don’t ruin your holidays or someone else’s. Don’t take chances driving while impaired. Have a designated driver or take a cab.

10. Give back: Give back to your community by volunteering or donating to those less fortunate. Make the holidays special for someone else!
